Online Bingo

If you are new to the game of Bingo, it might seem a bit confusing at first. There are dozens of terms exclusive to bingo, but they are all easy to understand once you get the hang of the terminology. Playing bingo online is a fun pastime for people around the world. Before you start visiting online bingo sites, take some time to learn the terminology. Do your research to be the best you can be at your bingo game.

One of the most basic terms is the “Caller.” The caller is the person, or sometimes machine, that calls out the numbers for all the players involved. Pay close attention to the caller at all times to avoid missing a number that could help you win. Your Bingo “Card” is the space where you will play. Most cards have twenty four spaces filled with various numbers. One space is always left blank to give you an advantage during the game. Every card is different and online cards have numbers assigned at random to all players. The spaces on the card are arranged in five separate columns. Each column contains a row of five numbers. Each column corresponds with a letter from the word Bingo. Numbers typically coordinate with the letter. The B column will always have numbers between one and fifteen. The I column is home to numbers sixteen through thirty. N is full of numbers between thirty one and forty five. G will have numbers ranging from forty six to sixty. And finally, the column with O has the high numbers between sixty one and seventy five.

In order to win the game, you will need to cover the numbers that are called out during game play. When you cover the numbers in the pattern that is predetermined by the caller, you are the winner. If a bingo game is determined to be a “Blackout” or a “Coverall,” then you have to cover your entire card to win the game. If the game is called a “Pattern” game, then you only need to create a pattern on your card to win. For example, you will need to cover one row or one column. You could win a pattern by creating a complete diagonal line or horizontal line on your card as well.

Most online bingo sites will offer a “Jackpot,” which is the grand prize that all players are striving for. Others will offer “consolation prizes” to the players who don’t win the jackpot on special games. Sometimes consolation prizes are given if there isn’t a winner within the allotted amount of time.

If you are playing online, you will also see the term “Game Room” used frequently. Most online bingo sites divide players into game rooms to keep the game from including too many players at one time. This also gives you the opportunity to use the chat room to interact with the other players during the game. You can meet other players from around the world and get to know each other while you play the game.
Online bingo is a lot of fun and you can play from the comfort of home. Begin by playing on free bingo sites to get the hang of the game.
